A report from financial technology company SmartAsset ranked Chattanooga as the eighth-most popular place where millennials are buying homes.
“Millennials are faced with the rising costs of rent and student debt, so affordability could be a reason for that,” SmartAsset public relations director Asees Singh said.
The cities that rank above Chattanooga are Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Elk Grove, California; Bakersfield, California; Roseville, California; Peoria, Illinois; Cary, North Carolina; and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Also, SmartAsset had previously ranked Chattanooga as the No. 1 place to start a new business and the No. 4 place for minority-owned businesses.
